A Week of The Darkness Meditation – An Ancient Essene Practice
Beginning Monday January 8 until Sunday January 14. Time: 7pm – 8:30pm
In this meditation we use the absolute darkness of a lightproof room for meditation. The absence of light can be a primal source of relaxation and inner nourishment.
The Indian mystic Osho has said of this meditation: “In it, you can become like the ocean. You can be one with darkness. And darkness is so oceanic; nothing is so vast, nothing is so eternal.”
We begin this meditation first with some dance music, just to help the body release excess restlessness, then we move to the lower meditation space and instructions for the meditation are given. The lights are then turned of and for one hour we sit in absolute silence and darkness, with our eyes remaining opened. Afterwards a cup of tea is available and time to hang out and ask any questions.
Come and join us for this unique meditation. This is our 14th year of hosting this week of the Darkness meditation. You can come individual times or for the entire week.
Cost: This money goes towards maintaining the meditation center & park-like grounds. $11.00 per meditation, or $70.00 for the entire week, or $7.00 with a 10 meditation pass, which costs $70.00.
We are located in a residential neighborhood. Look for the stained-glass butterfly in the window on the top level. There are many parking spaces (at least 9) in the large driveway in front and in front of the raspberry bushes. There is virtually unlimited parking on 35th Ave, NE. Or on 34th Ave. – but only park on the side of the school – not in front of houses. The neighbor on the northwest corner of 115th and 35th ask that no one parks in front of their houses on 115th (same side as Center). If you park on the street park in the flow of traffic or you might get ticketed (written from experience.) Thank you for your consideration.
