SUMMARY:Osho Enlightenment Day – Satsang with Live Music Online & In-Person & Veggie Potluck for those Bringing a Dish to Share Mar 21 Sat 3:30
DESCRIPTION: \n\n \nOsho became Enlightened on March 21,1953. This is an excerpt from a discourse of Osho speaking on enlightenment:   “God is a universal thing. Once you come out of your private dreams, it is there. It has been always there. Once your eyes are clear, a sudden illumination—suddenly you are overflooded with beauty, grandeur and grace. That is the goal, that is the destiny.\nLet me repeat. Without effort you will never reach it, with effort nobody has ever reached it. You will need great effort, and only then there comes a moment when effort becomes futile. But it becomes futile only when you have come to the very peak of it, never before it. When you have come to the very pinnacle of your effort—all that you can do you have done—then suddenly there is no need to do anything anymore. You drop the effort.\nBut nobody can drop it in the middle, it can be dropped only at the extreme end. So, go to the extreme end if you want to drop it. Hence, I go on insisting: make as much effort as you can, put your whole energy and total heart in it, so that one day you can see—now effort is not going to lead me anywhere. And that day it will not be you who will drop the effort, it drops on its own accord. And when it drops on its own accord, meditation happens.\nMeditation is not a result of your efforts, meditation is a happening. When your efforts drop, suddenly meditation is there…the benediction of it, the blessedness of it, the glory of it. It is there like a presence…luminous, surrounding you and surrounding everything. It fills the whole earth and the whole sky.”\nWhat is Satsang? “Satsang means, in close proximity to the truth; it means, near the truth, it means near a master who has become one with truth – just being near him, open, receptive and waiting. If your waiting has become deep, intense, a deep communion will happen. The master is not going to do anything. He is simply there, available. If you are one he will flow with you. This flowing is called satsang. With a master you need not learn anything else. If you can learn satsang, that’s enough – if you can just be near him without asking, without thinking, without arguing; just present there, available, so the being of the master can flow in you.” -Osho\nWhy do we offer Satsang? Satsang is a wonderful opportunity to meditate with a community of “seekers.” It is also a beautiful support to celebrate this life, with music, with silence, with the amazing words of a mystic like Osho, and with celebration in dance and connection with caring people!\nHow do we do it? In this Online Satsang, each musician will play a solo piece, followed by a short period of silence. The music helps us settle and attune ourselves with the sounds outside of us, which – along with the silence – then becomes the vehicle to move deeper into meditation.\nAfter the music we will listen to part of an Osho video discourse. Listening to Osho speak can be in itself a meditative experience.\nAfter the video, there will be more music to move us into celebration.\nWe then offer space for connecting with each other at the end of the Satsang!\nWe look forward to connecting with you and meditating together!!\nP.S. Osho expressed another meaning of satsang in the discourse series called The Perfect Way, (# 7)\n“…This is satsang. This is prayer. This is meditation. When I am all alone within myself and when there is no thought, no thought of anyone, I am in the company of my Self. When the outer world is absent, inside there is the company of one’s Self. In that “companionless-ness” and solitude, in your pure being, the truth is realized because in your innermost being you yourself are that truth.”\nAbout the Veggie Potluck:  Please bring a dish enough to feed 4 or 5 people, and if you are a couple bring a larger amount or two dishes The potluck afterwards is only for people who bring food.\nExpectations in Meditations\nThe cost for online satsang is $10.00. The cost to attend in person is $15.00   \n\n \nZOOM Meeting Link Click Here.\nDIAL IN Information to join via Phone Call: 6836793635\nor if there is a problem click here: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/6836793635\n
