The Forgotten Language-Talking to the Body/Mind – a Heart and Soul Meditation (Online)
What is The Forgotten Language – Talking to the Body/Mind Meditation? This is a guided meditation. It is the last meditation given to us before Osho left his body. It is created for us to tune into our body and to become aware of the body’s messages to us.
Why do we offer this meditations? Osho guided Madita Dickhut (a hypnotherapist) in creating this meditation. He said to Madita that he wanted this meditation created because we need to be taught to make friend with our body.
In an interview with Madita he said that modern man has lost contact with the body because we are too identified with our mental processes. We normally only experience the body when we are sick – otherwise we have forgotten how to listen to the body messages. To listen to the complete interview click here.
I (Shanti) personally have this meditation to be extremely helpful when faced with health issues. I want to share it so others may also benefit from it.
How do we do it? In this meditation we get into a very comfortable position – either lying down or sitting. Then we will be guided into the meditation. We will be put into a light trance, combining deep relaxation with alertness. As we listen, we will explore and befriend our body/mind’s creative and self-healing energies. We will be able to focus these energies on specific issues, such as smoking, eating imbalances, insomnia, aches and pains, illness – anything that needs to be brought to wholeness and balance again.
The meditation lasts one hour.
As part of the Heart and Soul series, each Wednesday we will present a Meditation from the numerous meditation traditions Osho has given us. We want to share and pass on as many of these as possible. Often when Shanti (one of the meditation facilitators of The World of Meditation) would meet with Osho in a darshan, he would introduce to her a meditation technique, asking her to try it out. Her love for experimenting with a variety of techniques continues even to this day.
Each session we will introduce the particular meditation presented. Then we will all do the meditation. There is always time before and after each meditation to ask questions and to just hang out with each other!
