5 Chakra Relaxation & Dying with Awareness Meditation a Heart and Soul Meditation (Online)
What is the 5 Chakra Relaxation & Dying with Awareness Meditation? When I was in Darhsan (in a personal group meeting) with Osho, he suddenly called me forward saying something like ‘And now Shanti will die’ and he led me through a guided meditation of how to remain alert as I watched the body relax and let go into an imaginary journey of dying.
Why do we offer 5 Chakra Relaxation & Dying with Awareness Meditation? One aspect of meditation is learning how to die with awareness. I have heard it said that if we can die with alertness & awareness, it is suppose to be a most wonderful journey in helping us experience that though the body will die, who we really are remains. This meditation method had and still has a profound affect on me and I wanted to share it with anyone who is interested. Once we can relax without fear of dying, we can begin to live and participate in life more fully.
How we do it: While reading The Path of Meditation – a series of 8 discourses Osho gave at a meditation camp in Mahabaleshwar, India I found a part of the meditation Osho guided me in. During this meditation camp he introduced the meditation by first introducing a 5 chakra guided part to help deeply relax the body. So, in this meditation as each of you lie down, I will guide you through both of this meditations that first deeply relaxes the body/mind and then has us imagine our body dying and dissolving as the part of us that never dies remains alert and conscious. At the end we will experience our rebirth.
As part of the Heart and Soul series, each Wednesday we will present a Meditation from the numerous meditation traditions Osho has given us. We want to share and pass on as many of these as possible. Often when Shanti (one of the meditation facilitators of The World of Meditation) would meet with Osho in a darshan, he would introduce to her a meditation technique, asking her to try it out. Her love for experimenting with a variety of techniques continues even to this day.
Each session we will introduce the particular meditation presented. Then we will all do the meditation. There is always time before and after each meditation to ask questions and to just hang out with each other!
