Here is what people are saying about Finding the Work You Love and about Subhan’s facilitation:

I had a background in non profits and broadcast media until I developed serious health issues and had to stop working. I attended your class during this hiatus, when I was feeling so lost. When my health began to improve and I began to feel better, I volunteered as a beach naturalist for the Seattle Aquarium. In your class we did an exercise that helped me recognize that I enjoyed being outside, solving puzzles and searching for things (animals, landscapes). Through the beach naturalist training I met a professor from Highline College, who encouraged me to take one of his classes – Highline is right by my house, so I figured why not? Then one class turned into another and then another. Eventually I took a geology class and fell in love! I am now at UW, finishing my undergraduate degree in Earth and Space Sciences. In my younger years, I enjoyed math and science, but was forced to make a choice when selecting a major in college. So I went for the liberal arts and left that part of me behind. I was so unhappy in college back then and eventually I just dropped out without getting a degree. But that past helps me know – my writing and communication skills are benefiting me so well in scientific settings. It all comes together.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you! Your kindness and presence helped me so much. Your class taught me to make space and have some patience for the next adventure to be revealed.

“Subhan’s class was not just informative, but life affirming and motivating. The processes we practiced really helped me get to a place of clarity and confidence. By the end of the course, I had decided to go back to school, which I had been unclear of for a while. I am also more willing to take some risks and try new things that I hadn’t thought of before in the area of making connections.
I would highly recommend his work for anyone unsure of their choice of work, or what direction they are going in. You will not be disappointed.”

Nicole Nicolaisen, Seattle, WA.

“I thought the workshop was very helpful for all areas of life not just with one’s career. It helps people step outside of their comfort zone to do some self reflecting and identify the real issue that is keeping them from going after their dreams. I have learned to step outside of my fears….”

Vonnetta Ewing, recruiting consultant, Washington, D.C.

“To anyone hesitating about taking this class: I’ve spent the past couple decades of my life searching for a career that best fits me. I’ve read many career books over the years that did very little to help. As most people know, this is frustrating and being in the wrong career is literally detrimental to your health. After running out of options, I decided on a leap of faith and took the “Finding the Work You Love” class. I accomplished more in one weekend with this class than I did in two decades. The instructor, Subhan, combines career discovering strategies that really work with a life-long multidisciplinary experience that most other instructors or career book writers lack. All of the other participants had similar feelings about the class. People spend their money on many things (many that do little for their REAL benefit), but this is one class that will definitely have its return! I highly recommend to anyone the “Finding the Work You Love” class.”
-Jeremy K., Seattle, WA

“My production company had been moderately successful, but was unfulfilling – we were just a gun for hire, moving from job to job. Many friends had recommended Subhan’s Finding the Work You Love, so it seemed like a good place to explore other options. From the very first day, Subhan challenged the fundamental perceptions that I’ve had about work and play. Although it was challenging, Subhan’s experience and compassion provided us all with a safe environment to explore very difficult and personal subjects. Each exercise and discussion provided new ways of focusing on what is really important in both your career and life. By the time we finished, I’d found the solid career direction that I’ve always wanted, and the courage to move my company in that direction.”
Erik Holsinger, Media Production.

“I had seen the ad for this class before, but I thought what can this type of class really help or teach me? After seeing it again though, I decided to take it and see. It was mostly curiosity since before I started the Finding The Work You Love class, I didn’t really know what to expect. However, I was pretty certain that I wouldn’t get out of this class with a new job in hands. And although the latter is true, this class opened doors for me, literally in that I am now starting to explore other possibilities, possibilities I would have never thought about before, but also doors inside of me, doors that lead to places I need to explore more, doors that might lead to new discoveries of myself. One of the most important things Subhan taught me was the presence of the critic, the guard at my inner doors, who does everything he (or she) can to prevent me from going through these doors. I highly recommend this class to anyone who would like to discover their potential; Subhan is there to help and to give you tools that help you to move a bit out of the known-zone into the adventure zone, you never know what awaits you there.” Andre Durudas, Project Coordinator, Seattle WA

Wow, so I’ve been looking at becoming a professional investigator and I keep looking at my list of the qualities I want in my work. I posted them next to my mirror after that first or second class. Here’s my list: fun, laughter, engaging, stimulating, problem solving, joyful, bringing happiness, slow + steady, carefree, respectful, peaceful, and creating beauty. I’m looking at all the things an investigator does and decide: NO.

So, this book comes from Amazon some time yesterday. My husband brought it in and I forgot about it until this morning. I pack it in my stuff to read while my son does soccer. And it’s my favorite type of book, a book on health and wellness. I begin reading a few chapters, and I read through this one chapter called Set Your Intention. I read all the way through and I get chills. He’s talking about never giving up, about how, “a setback is nothing but a set up for a comeback.” And, in those chills, it hits me that I want to be a health and wellness coach. How can I not have seen this, I think. Then, I say, well, I wasn’t quite ready for it. But, I’m ready for it now. My whole life has brought me to this point, I had to live my life in order to find this place in my heart. I’m scared but with the tools you’ve taught me, I can move forward.

I was so excited, I had to send you an email. When I got those chills, Subhan, it wasn’t just chills. The only way I can describe it is that it was a release of energy that spiraled from my gut followed by the chills. Anyway, I’ve located an online school called Institute for Integrative Nutrition and I feel like I’ve come home. The program culls everything that I love about nutrition: lifestyle balance, whole foods, spirit, organic vegetables.

Thanks so much for your guidance and patience. You are a gem.

Subhan, I just wanted to thank you for all you taught me in your class, ‘Finding the Work You Love.’ That class and your facilitation of it were profoundly helpful to me in bringing to the light the things that are most meaningful to me. Being in that class finally gave me the forum to explore my desires without any judgment or criticism, without any rules as to what I could and could not do.

I was accepted to graduate school and I will be going back to school in September to get a masters in psychology and counseling! I am very excited and feel deep confirmation that this is the path I am supposed to be on.

So that’s it. I wanted to let you know and extend my thanks and appreciation for what you are doing. Best to you Subhan!!

“Subhan was a treasure – completely different than anything I expected. The class went deep. Really more about living your dream life than finding your dream job (in a good way). Not the usual self-help class/instructor. This one will stick with me.” – Elizabeth

“[It] helped me figure out what I want to do with my life. I made the decision and am on the path with a new job that is something I love to do, I have goals and direction and it feels great!” – Thomas

Dreams do come true! I remember very clearly of my dream when I attended your “Finding the work you love” workshop in Pennsylvania, came true. All the bucket list items are almost checked off!

One of those workshops that I loved. Thank you for doing what you do! its priceless! Samir Khanal

I worked a thankless, soul-sucking job until I developed serious health issues and had to stop working. I felt like I had washed out to sea and decided to sign up for Subhan’s class. The class was exploratory and playful. It seemed a little strange at first but through the exercises in class I learned so much about myself. I learned that I enjoyed being outside, solving puzzles, searching and investigating the natural world. When my health began to improve I volunteered as a beach naturalist for the Seattle Aquarium. Through the volunteer training I met a professor from a nearby college, who encouraged me to take one of his classes. It felt crazy to go to college in my 40s, but I’m here to say it absolutely wasn’t. One class turned into another and then another. Eventually I took a geology class and fell in love! I am now at UW, finishing my undergraduate degree in Earth and Space Sciences. In my younger years, I enjoyed math and science, but was forced to make a choice when selecting a major in college. I picked the arts and communication and left that part of me behind. I was so disconnected from myself and unhappy that eventually I just dropped out without getting a degree.

I look back at my class with Subhan and recognize how his kindness and presence helped me get back in touch with myself. His class taught me to make space, open my mind and have patience for the next adventure to be revealed. The seeds were planted and with a little time, they sprouted. I recommend this class, not just because it might shake things up and help you find a new path, but it’s a delightful opportunity to get to know yourself.

Leslie Hestekind

I want to thank you for a great class.

Your compassionate non-acceptance of excuses, and the safe space you created for me to declare my intentions was what I needed to launch into a new era.  Even while I am committed to finishing out my 14 months sentence at my current job for the sake of allowing my son to finish his private school education, I have already begun a new life.  I am immersed in new, creative and big ideas all surrounding the right “content” (FINALLY!).  I am no longer sheepish about talking about my future occupation in, around, with, and for dogs.

I’m jumping in (in my plan-ful way) and will see where the learning takes me and what opportunities open up. I am not so much worried about making money, I’ve worried about that for the last 35 years. What I cherish is feeling enthusiastic about my future again.  How exciting.

Much appreciation to you for the class, the ideas, and the play book which I will continue to read and work with.  Feel free to share this with the others in the class if you like, or not.  I sincerely hope all your students seize their courage and go for it.

With gratitude, Maureen

Dear Subhan, I was really glad to attend your class– Finding the work you love, Finding the life you love. It was about a year ago that I took your class.  I truly feel that was what started the wheels in motion; because if I were to look at my level of happiness back then to what it is now, I feel like I did practice a lot of what you taught and it has paid off.  So you can use me as an example if you’d like in your class if anyone asks ‘where are they now’?

I feel really excited about this already and know I have found my niche.

Thank you, Subhan, for facilitating us through a powerful
and healing workshop! With your genuine kindness and compassionate
wisdom, you have created a safe place full of insights for us.
journey continues.

I would like to share my first step with you. I contacted the four
people I mentioned yesterday in the group. My inner critic warned me
that they might find me unrealistic, will bring up doubts, will tell
me it will be hard, will tell me there is little opportunity and so on
and so on. To my surprise, initial reactions are very different, for
example, they say “exciting”, “happy to help”, “let’s talk as soon as
possible” etc. I have set up three meetings so far. Another thing I
did is to contact a woman who facilitates art groups called “art
salon.” You meet once a month for half the day with like-minded people
to check in, share, and create art together.

My best wishes,

I wanted to thank you and share my story with you, because your class set the ‘seed’ in my mind to change my course. I was taking your class because I desperately wanted a change, a career that had meaning, not just a paycheck. I was working in IT at the time and felt very unconnected with that environment. My passion has always been animals but I had never allowed myself to follow that path. The other day, I picked up the workbook from your class and was looking through the exercises and my responses. What struck me was reading the question “Did/Do I ever have a longing to do something? Or a longing to have a career which I have never pursued?” My answer was, “Yes, be a Veterinarian”.

I wanted to let you know that I have just been accepted into The WSU Veterinary Program for this upcoming fall! I have spent the last 2 years taking classes, and volunteering to meet the pre-reqs for the Veterinary Program. I still cannot believe I made it happen. This has been the first time in my life where I let myself have a goal I really wanted and took it step by step, working with my fears along the way.

Thank you Subhan for your class, your true intention of compassion and kindness, and the effort you put into helping others find their truth.

“Finding the Work You Love, Finding the Life you Love” will change your life for the better. It is that simple. Taking this course has improved my life in so many areas it is impossible to explain in a simple blurb. I have found the work and life I love because of this opportunity. I have tried many different and expensive ways to improve my life, and “Finding the Work You love, Finding the Life you Love” by far is the most affordable, and effective. Subhan is your guide, and he will equip you with the tools of change. You will be the one to change your life for the better though, and it feels fantastic to have your life in your hands and own the tools to maintain and grown in the work and life you love. Go for it!

“Hey Subhan! I just wanted to take the time to once again thank you for your tremendous help and guidance during your classes. Thanks to what I learned from you about finding out and pursuing what I really want to do, I was able to enroll at a private university here in Hamburg, Germany. I’m studying sports journalism now and at the end of my studies I will have a wide range of skills such as writing, radio and tv skills and knowledge. So far I’m “only” 2 1/2 months into my studies but I’m getting great feedback from my teachers, I just joined a biography research project as a volunteer to gain more experience; and most important, I am really happy with what I’m doing and I’m eager to learn more every single day. I just wanted to let you know how things are going for me thanks to your class!

Hi Subhan

I found your class very interesting and enjoyable, and I definitely felt a shift from somewhere within, although I’m not quite sure I can identify exactly where!

I think the most poignant moment for me was at the first class, where Erin asked you about your success rate and feedback. I felt huge revelation in your answer and took that with me over the duration of the following weeks. Allison did guide me through the content of the remaining classes and believe it or not, I think I did find what it is I would like to pursue as a career!

I am pleased to have attended your classes and to have met you, and I remain open and positive to where my future lies.

Subhan is a breath of Fresh Air to the Teaching Profession ! At once he is caring, understanding …and knowledgeable.

Specifically , Subhan conducts a full classroom in such a way that students get individual attention and the group gets educated at the same time! My fellow classmates were more supportive of me and the individual progress began to happen before our very eyes !

Subhan offers a very creative examination of our lives and our work that really makes for a delightful class on life’s work ! As a former early childhood educator, swim instructor, army medic, and now retired army veteran, I find Subhan to be one of the best teachers and one of the most inspirational people I have ever known in my life! Dear Subhan, something amazing happened!

After your workshop (Finding the Work You Love, Finding the Life You Love) I decided to send one of my paintings to the MoMA after an online course I took. And today they sent me the link to see the digital exhibition of the selected paintings… Guess what? Yes, among many others they choose mine and I’m having such a joyous day!

Thank you! For telling me that it was time for art 😍

When I try to describe the impact that Subhan’s  workshops have had on my life, the words that come to mind are “life changing.”

Finding the Work You Love, Finding the Life You Love and 8 Steps to Peace of Mind contain lessons I find myself applying not only in my career, but in my personal and spiritual life as well.

I want to thank him for reaching out to me as an individual student and addressing my personal enquiries.

I had been craving a life change for a while .. to quit working for other people and do the things that i enjoy, which i had been postponing because i didn’t feel capable of succeeding, of doing what i love and make a living out of it.  So one day i met someone who had been in the Finding the Work You Love, Finding the Life You Love workshop and what he told me resonated in me .. two weeks later I saw on Facebook that the workshop would take place in Seattle in another two weeks time; time and money came together, packed my things and flew from Mexico City to a weekend to remember!  Not only did it give me great insight of the many possibilities my abilities and myself can take me, but also it made me find new love for myself.  Subhan & his wife Shanti created for us a space of unconditional love in which it was only natural to feel at home and safe to open up & just be!

Now, i have finally quit my job and I’m on the journey to doing what makes my heart sing!

You must not miss on this workshop!

I’ve been very blessed as I’ve been recently assigned a new role at work, which I’m super excited about! I’m going to be managing our relationships with Camera Dealers, which is going to allow me to immerse myself in Professional Photography, creative professionals and the arts. Unquestionably, I pursued this new direction and career opportunity as a direct result from the inspiration I drew from you Subhan, and your class. Thank you so much for giving me the courage to be fearless and remain true to my ultimate passion. I am sincerely happy with this new career path and am grateful every day I go to work.

I attended Subhan’s workshop and found it very insightful. Being familiar with Subhan and The World of Meditation, I knew this would not be a run-of-the-mill motivational seminar, which I was not looking for anyway. Subhan and his wife Shanti (who assisted with the workshop) share a lot of personal wisdom, loving care, kindness, and an earnest desire to help people find their true calling. (They have been seekers for several decades, and have also spent several years in India in their spiritual quest.) Subhan has evolved this workshop over many years. He has structured it as a combination of very interesting individual and group exercises. Through these exercises and personal attention in a small group setting, one is gently nudged to probe deeper into their own self to identify their true yearnings. He then follows it up with an exercise to translate ones thoughts and feelings into tangible career or life paths.

I found it to be a very enriching experience, and well worth the time and cost. So, I would recommend this workshop without any hesitation.

“I originally came to see Subhan for career counseling. I liked what he did for me so much that I asked him for help with family therapy also. He has many effective tools and techniques that he uses, and really has a deep understanding of how to use them. Working with him has really helped me be more “myself” and reach a more peaceful and meditative state.”

Attending Subhan’s “Finding The Work You Love” seminar was one of the milestone by which I mark significant events in my life.  Here’s the deal:  after attending Subhan’s seminar the milestones keep appearing more rapidly; and that, for me is as good a description to progressing as any I’ve heard – and I love “progress” whether tangible or intangible!  I’ve been an employee all my life and  with the influence of the Subhan’s seminar and the other attendees I gained enough final confidence (or should I say I recognized the confidence that was always there?) to start my own corporation and am loving every minute of my adventure.  If you are working to earn a living – I’ve been there, done that and have every tee shirt!  Often our “work” defines us and if that is so, then let me be defined by what I am doing and how I am now living after the catalyst of Subhan’s seminar!  I’ve offered to pay for my four children to attend, an one as accepted thus far.  After attending, she is euphoric with possible ideas and I can sum up our opinions of the seminar by sharing with you her first words to me  ”I can now observe the critique and am ready to live the life I love doing the things I love.”  I am a very, very conservative person and urge you to have an open mind and attending Subhan’s seminar/course.”  -Ron Hansen, Edmonds, WA

————————————————–

I wanted to take a moment, Subhan, to truly thank you for the inspiration and motivation that your class imparted on me.  You showed me that I have a support group of people that want me to succeed and that I really can make a living doing something that I love.

I have enrolled myself in 4 courses in an online design school – Feng Shui, Organization, Interior Design, and Home Staging. Once the courses are completed, I will be international certified to practice. I am 2 months pregnant, and once the baby is born I will take time off work to focus on raising my baby and studying for my new career path.  I am very excited about wat the future holds for me.  Rest assured that you will be mailed one of my first business cards.

Thanks again for your encouragement, practical steps, and everything you do!

Sincerely,

Thank you Subhan Schenker  🙏🏻 for helping me clear all my doubts about my existence, it’s amazing the work, the peaceful energy and very deep that makes this great teacher. I am so thankful for you and your ‘playbook’.  Where I began with such anxiety over what was next, I now feel really excited over my future.  My final decision is that I am going to begin by exploring several things that bring me joy, and see where they take me… hobby or career #2.  It finally hit me that it was OK not to do just one thing, or to change my mind.

So I am pursuing photography in several different ways,  I am also planning a Seattle Walking tour series with a friend that provides exercise, outdoors, Seattle sights, interesting facts and of course ends up either at a great happy hour, or an indy coffee house.

In the meantime I am going to practice my social media skills and see how I can use these to expand whatever it is that really sticks.

Thank you for your inspiration.

I just wanted to write you a short testimonial, now about 1.5 years after I took the class with you.  I continue to think back on the class with gratitude, for the skills I learned and for the changes in perception I gained. Subhan,
I just wanted to drop you a quick line to tell you that I completely jumped
out of my comfort zone and succeeded. After quitting my cushy job with computers, I have been working on a 130 foot, privately owned, yacht for the past 9 months.
I just finished so that I could jump out of the comfort zone and see what else
pops up. I am in Seattle now, but do not plan on being here long. Please take
care, and enjoy your next adventures.

Hi Subhan… I learned so much about myself during your class. I’ve been practicing my calligraphy, and am signed up for a basic/intermediate calligraphy in Edmonds. I contacted my old instructor and she isn’t teaching anymore, but highly recommended the class I am going to take. I also am going to take a
rubber stamping class, so I can learn how to make my own cards. I’m really excited about starting my own business, and my husband is very supportive.

I guess what I learned the most in your class, is that I need to get in touch with my creative side and not just settle for any job, especially in health care. The wedding expo is this weekend, and I am going to go and talk to
other calligraphers who are advertising their services. Anyway, just wanted to thank you for all your help and encouragement.

Thank you! You challenged us to come up with a definition of success during the class. The definition I came up with was “To live each moment in the present being truly authentic to myself”. Letting go of the past will give me the clarity to begin living more actively in the present. It may take a while, but I’m hoping I can get there, even for a moment.

I was expecting personality tests, examinations into career fields, etc. This class was not that. Instead it was deep and heartfelt conversations about dreaming, returning to your essential nature, examining obstacles, and learning to take small steps into the unfamiliar/uncomfortable.

I think I already knew what I wanted to do before the class, but now I know how to move forward with my dream. I feel empowered to make things happen. Thank you, Subhan.

I had recently lost my job and was experiencing some anxiety and depression when I signed up for Finding the Work You Love. Subhan’s course helped me pull myself out of a negative space and look toward a brighter future – in my work and personal life.

I looked forward to going to class every week for the genuine conversations, exercises and the camaraderie with fellow students. If something is missing or weighing you down in life, take this course and you’ll get support and ideas for making your life better.

When I came to the class, I wanted to know what I should do as my career. I discovered that I wanted to travel and to learn how to run a hostel in Thailand. I want to see how others run hostels and engage in tourism.

Before I came to this class, I had little energy to make friends in the U.S. because I knew that I was only staying a year and then going back to Thailand. But that was a BIG mistake! In Subhan’s class, I was able to explore myself. I reconnected with my own energy again! Now I want to meet new people, have conversations, smile, laugh, and even do more reading.

I learned from this class that I could be truly happy. I saw that originally I had many fears. But I saw that life is short. I saw that my obstacle was my mind, not my last job. Instead of staying in my comfort zone, I now have tools from this class to “do it NOW” and to remember to take small steps in the direction of my dream.

In the class, I created a plan for my hostel, starting with small steps. One of those steps was to apply as a volunteer in a hostel in Seattle, where I can learn their system, and their management style, and how they planned trips for tourism.

My dream is just beginning! I enjoy meeting at a coffee shop with others in the class and discussing what we did in the previous week’s class. I have been quite inspired!
