Satsang with Live Music Sat, May 18 3:30 pm -5:30 pm Online/In Person & Veggie Potluck (for Those who Bring Food Only)

Note: We are switching Satsang to Saturday about once a month. Due to people’s schedules we set the time as 3:30pm.  Let’s see how this works out for everyone

This satsang will be online and also in-person.  If you feel at all sick – even if you think it’s just allergies or the end of a cold, please wait for another satsang to happen.

The cost for online satsang is $8.00  The cost to attend in person is $15.00

After the satsang there is a vegetarian potluck.  If you want to attend this, please bring a vegetarian dish to serve at least 5-6 people, and if you are a couple bring a larger amount or two dishes.  Just to be safe, before partaking in the potluck be sure to wash your hands! To make sure there is enough food for everyone, the potluck is only for people who bring a dish to share with others.

What is Satsang? “Satsang means, in close proximity to the truth; it means, near the truth, it means near a master who has become one with truth – just being near him, open, receptive and waiting. If your waiting has become deep, intense, a deep communion will happen. The master is not going to do anything. He is simply there, available. If you are one he will flow with you. This flowing is called satsang. With a master you need not learn anything else. If you can learn satsang, that’s enough – if you can just be near him without asking, without thinking, without arguing; just present there, available, so the being of the master can flow in you.” (to continue reading this excerpt click here).

Why do we offer Satsang? Satsang is a wonderful opportunity to meditate with a community of “seekers.” It is also a beautiful support to celebrate this life, with music, with silence, with the amazing words of a mystic like Osho, and with celebration in dance and connection with caring people!

How do we do it? In this Online/Live Satsang, each musician will play a solo piece, followed by a short period of silence. The music helps us settle and attune ourselves with the sounds outside of us, which – along with the silence – then becomes the vehicle to move deeper into meditation.
After the music we will listen to part of an Osho video discourse. Listening to Osho speak can be in itself a meditative experience.
After the video, there will be more music to move us into celebration.
We then offer space for connecting with each other at the end of the Satsang! And for those that are live, we will eat our bag lunches on the deck!  Again something new to experiment with!We look forward to connecting with you and meditating together!!

Osho expressed another meaning of satsang in the discourse series called The Perfect Way, (# 7)
“…This is satsang. This is prayer. This is meditation. When I am all alone within myself and when there is no thought, no thought of anyone, I am in the company of my Self. When the outer world is absent, inside there is the company of one’s Self. In that “companionless-ness” and solitude, in your pure being, the truth is realized because in your innermost being you yourself are that truth.”

About the Veggie Potluck:  Please bring a dish enough to feed 4 or 5 people, and if you are a couple bring a larger amount or two dishes The potluck afterwards is only for people who bring food.
